3. what people say

Well, um, to adults that have kids?

They think it's probably crazy. Strange.

I recall my dad just saying "It's weird."

I mean, he likes me going here.

He just thinks it's weird.

I've heard it called a whole bunch of different things.

And it's just hard explaining it to people when they ask "What school do you go to?"

And then they ask questions like why you don't have any grades.

"Why don't you have any classes? How do you learn things?"

You're joking.

It's not real.

Yes it is.

It's kind of hard to get the concept through to people because often they think it's some kind of joke or something.

"You mean students get to decide what they do?"

Having to explain the school is very challenging and

some people get it right away if they've heard of Sudbury Valley.

Some people really don't.

A lot of my friends

I don't even get into it.

"So, what do you do all day?"

"Wait, so like, how do you learn science?"

"No, no wait," they're like " how do you know how to put gas in your car?"

"Because you don't know how to do math!"

"Wait, hey Michael, so what do the five-year olds do? Who do they play with"

"What?"

That's what everybody says.

"What?"

"Wait, there's no classes and there's no teachers?"

They don't get it.

"No classes in the school! What kind of school is that?"

Well, it's my school

and I like it.
